Our post-cruise adventure brought us to Dollywood’s beautiful DreamMore Resort in Pigeon Forge.
We had just 45 minutes to stroll the gardens, admire Dolly’s wall-to-wall album covers and memorabilia, take photos, visit the pool, and enjoy cocktails before our group buffet dinner. Nelson, Susie, Cecile and I found a table together as our Tennessee adventure began winding down.
Little did Cecile and I know when we booked this trip with the Byes that Dolly would pass away on August 25—just one day before my birthday.
Being surrounded by her music, memories and Smoky Mountain spirit made our visit especially poignant.
Dolly may be gone, but her dreams live on.
