Our granddaughter Lyla came up to me to make sure I got the memo.
“Papa, after you and Nonnie pick us up from summer camp, we’re going for ice cream… and they have really good chocolates!”
Our first stop was the legendary Snook’s Candies & Chocolate Factory in Folsom. Lyla and Emmy each chose a giant waffle cone and enjoyed every delicious bite. They also picked out rainbow lollipops for themselves and a globe-shaped lollipop for their little brother, Gus, because, as they proudly explained, “Gus likes those!”
Next, we visited Ruby’s Books, a cozy independent bookstore with a wonderful children’s corner. Lyla and Emmy each found a book to take home, while Nonnie picked out a Tyrannosaurus Rex book for Gus.
