"The sound of waves crashing on the shore in the backdrop is one of the most relaxing sounds on Earth."
At the recommendation of our friends, Nelson and Susan Bye who hosted a large family gathering there, Cecile and I opted for a special long weekend getaway at Seascape Beach Resort in Aptos, to embrace tranquility and serenity in a coastal retreat setting. One stood out immediately was a classic car between the waterfall and the front entrance. Rumor has it that belonged to the resort’s previous owner. Our suite includes a fully-equipped kitchenette, gas fireplace with ocean views and sounds of the crashing waves of the Santa Cruz coastline. We decided to have dinner at the award-winning Sanderlings, one of the best restaurants on Monterey Bay.
Cecile had the Atlantic Salmon and I had the special lemon chicken soup and the special Beef Stroganoff with linguine. We savored every bite. We had three friendly staff members catering to our every need. For dessert we shared a mini round cheesecake with blackberries and raspberry sauce.
After dinner we sat in a comfortable cushioned chair around an outdoor fireplace before heading back to our suite.
